The Starbucks red cups are back starting today, November 2, and along with them are our two favorite Holiday drinks—Peppermint Mocha (my personal fave) and Toffee Nut Latte—as well as a new beverage: Santa Hat Dark Mocha.

And it’s drinking at least nine of any of these holiday featured beverages, along with another nine regular Starbucks drinks, that can get you the 18 stickers you need to have one of their 2017 planners! You know it’s Christmas when Starbucks releases its holiday drinks and planners.

Read on for the Christmas 2016 beverages and food items, new Starbucks card holiday designs, and 2017 planner mechanics you’ve been waiting for!

Peppermint Mocha, Santa Hat Dark Mocha, and Toffee Nut Latte blended beverages

This year, in addition to returning favorites Peppermint Mocha and Toffee Nut Latte, Starbucks is introducing a new handcrafted beverage for the holiday season, the Santa Hat Dark Mocha (Tall, P170; Grande, P185; Venti, P200). It’s decadent dark mocha topped with a base of strawberry whipped cream, strawberry syrup, and a dollop of snowy white whipped cream to create a playful “Santa Hat,” get it? It’s cute, and the strawberry whipped cream and syrup are delicious—perfect with my favorite Frappuccino Dark Mocha! It’s also available in hot and iced versions.

Every Christmas season, my staple Starbucks drink is Peppermint Mocha, made of espresso and steamed milk sweetened with chocolate and peppermint, topped with whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and candy cane pieces—my fave little part of the drink! Nothing puts me in holiday mood more than a hot cup of this drink.

Not my fave, but definitely popular, Toffee Nut Latte is loved for its  subtle caramelly sweetness, made with steamed milk, espresso, and toffee nut syrup, topped off with whipped cream and toffee nut sprinkles.

Peppermint Mocha and Toffee Nut Latte are also available iced and as Frappuccino at P160 for Short, P170 for Tall, P185 for Grande, and P200 for Venti.

Brewed coffee drinkers like me who are fans of the Christmas Blend can once again enjoy their beloved coffee, which has been offered in more than 60 countries around the world since 1984. The full-bodied coffee with a distinct acidity pairs well with a variety of Christmas food, with its pronounced flavors and deep, intriguing layers of spiciness and sweetness. It has complementary flavors of orange, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon—very Christmasy indeed.

It’s also available in various formats to suit drinkers’ varied tastes and preferences. Coffee connoisseurs can enjoy Whole Bean (P445). But, if like me you don’t really have the time and patience to brew coffee, you can opt for the Starbucks Christmas Blend Origami (P295), a convenient single-use filter for the perfect portioned cup of coffee on-the-go; or the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew Christmas Blend (P395), an instant Starbucks kick to create Christmas in a cup—wherever, whenever. It’ll make a great Christmas gift, too!

Food items

One of my friends said that Christmas to him is the season of Starbucks’ Chicken Fajita Roll, and he will certainly not be disappointed, as it’s back this year, along with our other favorites: Chocolate Toffee Nut Loaf, Peppermint Brownie, Gingerbread Cookie, and the Chocolate Crepe Cake.

Besides these beloved treats, we can add new things to love and clamor for each Christmas, with the introduction of new delectable food items to celebrate the festive season: the Single-Origin Chocolate Cake made with Venezuelan Cocoa Beans, Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake, Triple Chocolate Truffle Cookie, Chocolate Cruffin, Cranberry Bliss Bar, Chicken and Turkey with Cranberry Sauce on Croissant Baguette, and the Croque Monsieur on Croissant Baguette.

Starbucks Cards

The best way to avail of these beverages and food treats? Using the new Starbucks Cards, with designs that will make you want to activate them all—to be able to buy all those drinks you need for the planner, hehe!

The holiday collection features warm and vibrant designs in the colors of the season. This year’s Snowman and Holiday Tree Cards have a backdrop of wintery scenes in a hand-painted finish, while the Happy Holidays Card decked with mistletoes and holiday holly will be offered for the first time here in the Philippines—the perfect gift for all the Starbucks lovers! ;) All three are available for an initial consumable load amount of P300 per card

But there’s also the 2016 Red Cup Card, which comes with a Kraft sleeve carrier mimicking an authentic cafe Red Cup. It’s available starting November 10 for an initial consumable load amount of P1,000 per card.

More cards will be introduced on December 6 (Holiday Card with Metal Wrap—I want this!—and the Holiday Gift Packs featuring the super cute Polar Bear and Holiday Squirrel) and December 26 (Happy New Year Card). Above is a peek at all the cards, then click through the photo gallery below to see the first batch of Holiday Cards up close.

2017 Starbucks Philippines Planners

Each year, I am able to collect enough stickers to be able to get two or more Starbucks planners, haha. Starbucks addiction aside, I’ll make it a point for it to happen this year because the Starbucks planners come in two very irresistible designs and sizes: coffee stain brown, and my coveted Siren in blue and green with gold accents (below). Both come in small and large, and include an erasable pen, cloth pouch, stickers, magnetic bookmark, and of course, our must-have discount vouchers!

You can collect stickers starting today until Jan. 8, 2017, the last day of the holiday featured items. One sticker is awarded for each Starbucks handcrafted beverage purchase. You must accumulate a total of 18 stickers (nine of the featured beverages, nine Starbucks Core Handcrafted Beverage of your choice, except bottled beverages), to redeem one Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2017 Planner.

A combination of up to two promo cards will be allowed, provided that the nine featured plus nine core beverages have been purchased. Excess stickers for combined cards will be forfeited.

What’s more, every purchase of a handcrafted beverage (including Starbucks Signature Pairings bundled beverage) using a Starbucks Card will be awarded one sticker and one Beverage Star—yay for double rewards!

If you want to get that planner fast, a single receipt bulk purchase of food and other retail items (merchandise, whole bean, and Starbucks VIA) worth at least P7,000 will entitle you to one Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2017 Planner. A combination of receipts is not allowed. This does not apply to a bulk purchase of gift certificates and Starbucks Card load/reload of at least P7,000, however.
