If you’re a summer lover like I am, you probably also hate the rainy season and its gray skies, heavy downpour, flooded roads, and the resulting heavy traffic, especially during rush hour. It makes me just want to curl up in bed until the holiday season comes around.

So, the little things that can brighten gloomy days really matter—like delicious drinks, comfort food, and of course, some freebies here and there! Starbucks Philippines offers us all of these things throughout the rainy season—or from now until September 11, that is.

Açai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino

New Frappuccinos

Summer came and went by quickly, but it did not bring the heat with it. Counter the suffocating humidity with the two new indulgent and refreshing Starbucks Frappuccino flavors: Açai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino and Granola Dark Mocha Frappuccino blended beverages (P175 for Tall, P190 for Grande, and P205 for Venti). Handcrafted using premium ingredients, the new Frappuccino flavors are sure to satisfy those with a sweet tooth, chocolate lovers, and even the health buffs!

The Açai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino combines Açai berry-infused yogurt with bursting pearls that will delight you with the distinct and refreshing notes of mixed berry, finished with light, creamy, and frothy milk foam. It’s available only in Cream blended beverage format.

Since I love granola, I’m excited to try the Granola Dark Mocha Frappuccino, which brings together Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino with rich, chocolate flavors and a tasty blend of hearty cereal. It is topped with creamy milk foam and sprinkled with a generous topping of crunchy granola and chunks of raspberry-pink, dried mixed berries and fruits. Talk about getting the best of both worlds: fruity and chocolatey, healthy and yummy! You may opt to get this in Cream blended beverage format, too.

Not only are these two handcrafted beverages delectable, they’re also Instagram-worthy! The Açai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino comes in a pretty shade of pink (I’ll bet it’s generally better than the Unicorn Frappuccino, which we never had here in the Philippines), while a pic of the Granola Dark Mocha Frappuccino’s artful layers of granola and mixed fruit toppings will help you achieve #FeedGoals.

New eats

To complement your favorite handcrafted beverages, Starbucks also has a new line of tasty and filling meals. I can’t wait to try their savory take on crepe, the Bacon and Mushroom on Dutch Crepe (P165)—soft, chewy, and sweet Dutch crepe filled with honey-cured bacon and sliced mushrooms—as well as the new Cheese Danish (P95), the perfect choice for an on-the-go snack, with its buttery and flaky dough filled with sweet and creamy cheese.

For something more filling, especially for breakfast or brunch, you can try the new Ham and Cheese Frittata (P95), made of potatoes, eggs, ham, and cheese that are perfectly cooked together to keep you going the entire day.

Tuna Dill Sandwich

For a quick lunch or snack, try the Tuna Dill on Whole Wheat Bread (P175), with its hearty tuna flakes, mozzarella cheese, and hard-boiled egg slices served on whole wheat bread.

Belgian Chocolate Chip Cake

For dessert, I can’t wait to order the Belgian Chocolate Chip Cake (P150/slice, P1,450/whole), especially when I get my rare chocolate craving. This returning favorite is made with layers of vanilla sponge cake with chocolate chips, milk chocolate ganache, and frosted Belgian milk chocolate, finished with mini chocolate chip cookies on the sides.

Starbucks is also serving up a beloved Italian dessert with its own take on Tiramisu (P150), a sponge cake soaked in Starbucks Coffee, layered with a light and airy filling made of mascarpone, egg yolks, and cream.

Want something to keep in your purse as pantawid-gutom or when you’re just craving some munchies? Grab a pack (or two or three) of Radical Organics Toasted Coconut Chips (P50). I absolutely adore this crispy and crunchy gluten-free snack.

FIN_2017 Pilipinas Starbucks Card

Starbucks is also introducing the 2017 Edition Pilipinas Starbucks Card, which I can’t wait to have! Its eye-catching design is inspired by the coffee aroma wafting through the air and depicted in graceful patterns and fluid movements like folk dances that symbolize the traditions of Philippine culture. FIN_Manila Starbucks Card

Over the past four years, Starbucks has provided Filipinos with exclusive cards that marked special occasions, captured the identity of some of our most celebrated cities, and displayed the unique brand of Filipino pride, like the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Pilipinas Starbucks Card. Metro Manila and Cebu citizens can still grab the 2016 Manila and Cebu Starbucks Cards, which celebrated Starbucks customers’ sense of pride for their cities. The Manila Starbucks Card was inspired by “Summer Night in Manila” and focused on the design of the ubiquitous jeepney traveling the busy city at night. Meanwhile, the Cebu Starbucks Card (only available in Cebu) highlighted the Marcelo Fernan Bridge and the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge as viewed from the hilltops of Cebu that are decorated with Sinulog flowers.
