By now you’re probably scrambling to find a place to stay for the very long weekend coming up here in the Philippines this October to November, as well as all the upcoming holidays for the rest of 2023. Perhaps you’re also scouting a lovely and spacious vacation rental as venue for family reunions this holiday season, especially if you have relatives visiting from abroad. Allow me to throw one suggestion to your list: the farm villas of Tahana by Nurture, a vacation rental set in a picturesque farm in Amadeo, Cavite, managed by the group that brought us our favorite spa destination, Nurture Wellness Village in Tagaytay, along with The Henry hotel group.

We stayed there a few months ago, and I can finally show you the villa where we stayed in the YouTube video below. As you will see in the video, the villa is meant for couples or a small family of three or four. It comes with a complete kitchen and all amenities of a home you’d rent on, say, Airbnb, not to mention private access to a 14m pool with a pool deck and loungers.

During our stay, we enjoyed being surrounded by the sights, scents, and sounds of nature (which I allowed to shine in the video, that’s why I didn’t even bother putting any music)—waking up to the tweeting of the birds and sunlight streaming through the floor to ceiling windows. My daughter enjoyed splashing in the pool all day.

The stay also comes with a tour of Farmacy, Nurture’s farm where they have a wide variety of fresh herbs and vegetables, organized according to which body parts they benefit the most, in what they call the Phytotherapy Garden. We learned a lot from Nurture’s traditional healing expert Nanay Lina, who walked us through the different plants and their benefits for the body. You can even pick and buy fresh herbs and vegetables there to bring home with you, like kale and lettuce, among many others.

We also enjoyed a nice meal with our hosts Mike and Cathy Turvill at the villas’ common garden gazebo, which by the way is great for hosting intimate events like family reunions and other small parties, especially if you booked all the villas for your group.

As I mentioned in the video, there’s no breakfast or meals included in the stay, but you may get food delivered to your villa for breakfast or any other time from nearby Farmer’s Table Tagaytay at Nurture Wellness Village (read about the dishes we tried there in this blog post ) or a restaurant of your choosing. During our two-night stay (one night of which we paid for, while another night is sponsored by Mike and Cathy), we also got the chance to make the quick drive to enjoy a lovely lunch at Antonio’s Tagaytay and then go back to our villa to relax.

By the way, while toiletries and bath towels are provided, you may need to request pool towels and hangers for the closet, along with other things you may need. There’s an attendant at Tahana to assist you. You may contact them via their mobile (don’t forget to request for the number).
