I have a confession to make: I only recently got on Snapchat (add me—trixiereyna). And, I’m still trying to get the hang of it. Another confession: I really don’t get it, but I know I have to—I have to at least try.
As a digital content creator who insists on keeping her content mostly photos and copy, it’s hard to accept that less and less people like to read. There was one point when people just wanted to click through photos and not read articles; apparently, now they’d rather just watch videos—clicking requires effort! And more and more, they want to view videos on the one screen they have with them at all times: their mobile devices.

In the Philippines, Snapchat has already gained a solid following among the young ones with its unconventional approach to sharing on social: from quick (10-second) videos to cool filters. It starts with downloading the app. It might take a while to get used to the interface of swiping left, right, up, down, but you’ll get the hang of it eventually. Just avoid that circle at the bottom if you don’t want to snap yourself or your location accidentally. Key things to know:
