How are you enjoying the holidays? One of the things I now relish doing is catching up on my reading!

I know, I know, I haven’t updated my blog in a while, eek! I’ve just been taking a break and truly enjoying the holidays–which I hope you’ve been doing as well!

One of the things I’ve been relishing during my break is the chance to finally catch up on my reading (I used to be a huge bookworm until work got too busy, but I try to squeeze in as much reading time into my day as I can).

It’s funny then that I chanced upon this Facebook post from my colleague on my feed, and I immediately felt compelled to do it, even if I wasn’t one of the people she tagged: “List 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take more than a few minutes and don’t think too hard. They don’t have to be ‘right’ or ‘great’ books, just the ones that have touched you. Tag 10+ friends, including me, so I’ll see your list.”

And so, without further ado, here are the 10 books I listed:

paulo-coelho

Eleven Minutes – Paulo Coelho
The Zahir – Paulo Coelho
Memoirs of a Geisha – Arthur Golden
Like Water for Chocolate – Laura Esquivel
Les Miserables – Victor Hugo
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – J. K. Rowling
The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
The Notebook – Nicholas Sparks
Chronicle of a Death Foretold – Gabriel Garcia Marquez
He’s Just Not That Into You – Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo

And just as I was looking for these books to photograph for this post, I chanced upon two more that I want to include in my list, only because I had the privilege of meeting the authors of these books in person:

Follow The Model – J. Alexander (I met Miss J, who used to mentor America’s Next Top Model–one of my favorite shows–when he visited the Philippines a few years back.)
Basic Black – Cathie Black (I met the former President of Hearst Magazines at COSMIC, the international conference of Cosmopolitan editors, in India in 2010, six months after I launched the website of the Philippine edition of the popular women’s magazine.)

Follow-Black

I tagged my friends on Facebook when I posted this list there, but now I really hope you, my dear readers, will share with me your list of 10 books when you post a comment below! I would love to add more titles to my reading list, especially now that we’re on vacation! Enjoy the rest of the holidays, everyone!
