After subjecting my hair to countless hair treatments and procedures over the years (you name it: rebonding, hair coloring, perm, and all sorts of other treatments in between), I must admit my hair isn’t as lush, thick, or strong as it used to be. I’m prone to really bad hair fall, and I would have bad hair days (think dry and dull) more often that I would like. So, after having my hair colored, I had to make sure I was giving it all the TLC it needed immediately after.

I got my hair colored at Azta Urban Salon in Eastwood Citywalk, so I asked them what complimentary hair care treatment I can get immediately after the coloring procedure. They recommended the Lycopene Hair Treatment, which is meant to revitalize hair and help keep it smooth, shiny, and protected, even after being colored or permed. It does so by helping hair achieve a “healthy normal balanced porosity.” When I probed about “porosity,” I was told that “Hair with high porosity has cuticles that are wide open and is therefore damaged. Meanwhile, hair with low porosity has cuticles that are too compact, making it resistant to colors and perms.”

This hair treatment is enriched with Lycopene, the bright red pigment in tomatoes, which helps protect hair from UV rays and free radicals, as well as reverse and prevent free radical damage (like drying, breaking, and fading). The treatment helps protect and maintain your hair color, as it’s highly abundant in anti-oxidant properties.

I daresay this Lycopene Hair Treatment helped make my hair color last longer and my hair remain healthy-looking despite undergoing yet another hair coloring procedure. I wouldn’t be able to say if I’d have gotten the same results without it, but just to be on the safe side (especially if you’re praning about hair like me—and you should be!), just get this treatment anyway when you decide to get your hair colored. Lycopene Hair Treatment starts at P500 for short hair, P600 for medium hair length, P700 for long hair, plus an additional P150 for extra long hair.

To try Lycopene Hair Treatment, book an appointment in Azta Urban Salon Eastwood City, 02-6876527.
